Middle Brother shoreline

Description
On some islands, perhaps most, stretches of shoreline are becoming eroded by the waves. On the Middle Brother island, which is visited often by science parties, this is particularly noticeable and has increased in the last 5 to 10 years. Visible signs are palm trees toppled into the water when they are undercut and when the soil around their roots is eroded away. In other parts of the islands fresh sand may be deposited in banks which may develop into true soil and help island formation, but on several islands erosion clearly exceeds any such deposition.
