Ile de la Passe Salomon atoll ocean side 20m

Description
Some areas on reef slopes are covered by very large quantities of sea anemones which sometimes seem to almost replace the corals. Such areas usually have very abundant clownfish. There seems to be no reason other than random distribution why this occurs. The anemones are almost always expanded and several different species may be involved although monocultures of the same species may extend over 100 m² or more.
