Changes in some weather patterns in Chagos over twenty five years

Weather records from Diego Garcia from 1973 to 1997 are briefly analysed. The most striking changes over this time are a rise in mean annual temperature of nearly 1oC with a corresponding or greater rise in 95 percentile temperature values. There has also been a significant reduction in cloud cover over this period. Other variables such as pressure have trends consistent with this, but there was no noticeable change in wind direction and speed. Rainfall data so far analysed also show no obvious changes.
